Curling Canada recognizes that the sport of Curling is dynamic and continues to evolve. Coaches are encouraged to understand and recognize that coach training is a life-long learning process in which knowledge and skills develop and adapt to an ever-changing environment that includes new developments in research and sport science. A commitment to an athlete-centred approach that combines coach experience with curiosity about updated tools and techniques will help each coach adapt and grow.

The Competition Development Program is the next “level” of education for Certified Competition Coaches.  Coaches who plan to coach adult athletes competing at the Brier, Scotties, Mixed Doubles and Olympic Trials require this designation, as do coaches who plan to pursue further education like the Advanced Coaching Diploma.  Coaches advancing to the Canada Winter Games are required to have three of the thirteen “courses” contained within the program.  The program’s sport-specific training is all online using this except for the two in-person evaluations.  Multi-sport trainings are also online but in a synchronized "zoom" style delivery.

If you’re looking to raise your game to the next level as a coach – this is the program for you.
